About This Cause
Cenla Alliance for Animals (CAFA) is a 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue organization in Central Louisiana (Cenla) that is governed by a Board of volunteers dedicated to help abused, neglected, and homeless animals. We are passionate in helping save animals in danger of beingeuthanizedin high kill shelters in Louisiana, abandonment, abusive situationsand much more. Our rescueanimals receive medical care including vaccines like parvo/distemper/rabies/bordetella, spayed/neutered, treatment forheart wormsand given monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention, micro chipped and much more as needed while in our care.They are taken into a private shelter and foster homes in Louisiana and New England (Rhode Island, Massachusetts,Connecticut)to care for them until a suitable permanent home can befound.CAFA provides spay and neuter assistance to low income pet homes in need of help with spay/neuter surgeries to help with pet over population. As an animal alliance, CAFA’s goal is to be a community resource of information pertaining to animal welfare, adoption, rescue, and spay/neuter. CAFA promotes reducing pet overpopulation through our spay/neuter program and facilitates adoptions through our adoption links. Donations only support the volunteer based nonprofit organization. Due to the location and size of our community, our increasing financial need is very limited with grant funding; therefore, we rely solely on private donations. One hundred percent of every dollar goes directly toward the rescued animals in our community.
