Mission Statement

The mission of Central Louisiana AIDS Support Services (CLASS) is healthy living for all humans. While we remain committed to our original mission of serving people living with HIV/AIDS and preventing the transmission of the virus, we are also leading efforts focused on ending epidemics, fighting stigma, and promoting health for all, especially among our most marginalized and impoverished community members.

About This Cause

CLASS is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit community based organization and the only AIDS Support Organization serving Central Louisiana community since the beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The agency provides non-medical case management, transportation assistance, housing and utility assistance, oral health care, psychosocial support, emergency financial assistance, linguistic services, support group services including a Gay Men's Wellness Center/PrEP Clinic, and a food pantry. CLASS provides prevention services including free HIV, STD, and Hepatitis C testing, counseling, and prevention materials at both the CLASS office and via its mobile testing unit. The agency also provides free prevention materials at fifty-two distribution sites located in low income neighborhoods. CLASS offers a free evidence-based substance and alcohol abuse prevention program entitled "balance" and recently began offering a free syringe services program in an effort to help reduce the spread of HIV and other viral infections. Each June, CLASS hosts the annual Cenla Pride event to promote diversity and compassion for all people.
