Mission Statement
Esperanza Academy is a tuition-free, independent middle school in the Episcopal tradition welcoming girls of diverse faiths, races, and cultures from Lawrence, Massachusetts. The school inspires students to become active learners and responsible global citizens. We empower and prepare our girls to meet challenges with courage, integrity, and respect.
About This Cause
Esperanza enrolls 60 girls in grades 5-8 and supports 155 high school and college-aged alumnae through our Graduate Support Program. 100% of students come from low-income households, 90% speak a language other than English at home, and 70% live with a single parent or guardian. Students are selected by lottery to ensure every girl in the city has the chance to access the transformative education we provide. Esperanza provides holistic programming that includes a rigorous academic curriculum and a rich co-curricular program of art, music, athletics, and community service.
