Mission Statement
The mission of Lifetime Recovery is to "Change Lives through Comprehensive Treatment of Substance Use Disorders". Lifetime Recovery is the largest non-profit residential substance abuse treatment facility in Bexar and surrounding counties. Lifetime’s mission is to provide for the care of those with little or no financial resources to access services. No client is turned away strictly for the inability to pay. Since 1963, Lifetime Recovery has aided thousands of individuals seeking recovery. Founded on the principals of Alcoholics Anonymous, Lifetime offers professional, evidenced-based, cognitive behavioral therapy and treatment with a curriculum utilizing a holistic approach to life change. Lifetime provides outpatient and residential treatment to men and women for substance use and mental health disorders. Lifetime’s core philosophy is to provide a powerful experience for each client, with the goal of providing systemic change in everyone who experiences treatment at its centers. Our programs make it possible for children to be returned to mothers, for brothers to reconnect with brothers, for fathers to become fathers again, and for families to be reunited. One day at a time turns into a lifetime, and our community is forever changed for the better. Lifetime Recovery is accredited by CARF, the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. This widely recognized achievement provides referral sources, clients and their families, and the community, the assurance that Lifetime adheres to the highest standards in the provision of care.
About This Cause
Lifetime's substance use disorder programs, in both co-ed residential and outpatient settings, have helped thousands of people. Lifetime works closely with Federal, State and County entities, Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Programs, as well as emergency rooms, detoxification facilities, and other treatment centers in identifying and placing clients for treatment with the objective of reducing recidivism. Lifetime offers a 45-to-90 day Intensive Residential Treatment program. It focuses on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a type of psychotherapeutic treatment that helps patients change behavior by working with and resolving ambivalence. Trained in Trauma Informed Care, Lifetime residential licensed program counselors also recognize that clients are likely to have suffered a history of trauma and understand the role trauma may play in a client’s addiction. Hence, counseling is focused on working through the trauma to help prevent relapse. Outpatient Counseling Services (virtual and in-person) focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy that helps clients understand the thoughts and feelings that influence behaviors and decision-making. Outpatient clients take part in 2 to 3 classes per work for a period of 3 to 6 months depending on their individual treatment plans. Recovery Links programs consist of recovery coaching and recovery supportive services. This program addresses barriers that prevent a person from recovery and are not just focused on abstinence. Lifetime’s recovery coaches work with clients to create a personalized recovery plan, monitor their progress, and provide referrals to supportive services all with the goal of helping individuals become self-sufficient.
