Mission Statement

The Hill Country Senior Activity Centers' mission is to provide an inclusive community that gathers to enjoy delicious meals, friends, and fellowship. We believe providing opportunities to socialize, learn, contribute through volunteering, and participate in recreational activities, promotes spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being.

About This Cause

The Hill Country Senior Center was established in 1977 as an outlet for seniors to gather and enjoy fellowship, activities and affordable, nutritious meals. The Thrift Store on campus funds the majority of center operations. Volunteers provide 80% of the labor. The center raised money in 2020 to purchase a 12 passenger van to provide affordable transportation for rural seniors to medical appointments, grocery shopping and also for field trips. The center's staff also provides support to seniors via health fairs, resources and outreach. Seniors volunteer in many different capacities at the center and thrift store. The center also provides durable medical equipment at no charge to anyone in need.
