Mission Statement

The mission of Community Table: A community in which people have access to food and resources to foster self sufficiency.

About This Cause

The Arvada Community Food Bank dba Community Table is a Colorado nonprofit 501 c (3) corporation formed in 1982 to serve the needy and vulnerable in our community. Our goal is to secure the resources (food, financial, physical, and volunteers) necessary to provide programs to help meet the nutritional needs of qualifying community members. From the beginning the Community Table has worked with city government, churches, schools, civic organizations, businesses and private citizens to ensure that the residents of Arvada and surrounding communities would have a place to go for emergency food. In September 2013, the organization received a three year grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to develop and implement a program designed to help clients move towards a path to self-sufficiency. Named Bridges to Opportunity, the new program is one of several pilot programs throughout the country that will serve as a model for other food banks seeking to broaden their services beyond basic services. This program is now funded by our donors, and is called Assistance Programs.
