Mission Statement
The Food Bank for Larimer County is a private non-profit organization that offers food assistance for people who are struggling to make ends meet in Larimer County, Colorado. Our mission is to provide food to all in need through community partnerships and hunger-relief programs.
About This Cause
At the Food Bank for Larimer County, we’ve been dedicated to ending hunger in our community since 1984. Each year, we distribute enough food for more than 8 million meals through our programs and community partners. Fresh Food Share, our largest program, is a client-choice food pantry program that provides free groceries to seniors, single-parent families, people with disabilities, homeless individuals, the working poor and other low-income residents. Locations include pantries in Fort Collins and Loveland, three partnering mobile pantry sites and a pantry operated in partnership with UCHealth. In our Nutritious Kitchen, volunteers and staff prepare scratch-cooked meals and snacks for our child and senior meal programs: Kids Cafe delivers food to partnering locations (such as Boys & Girls Clubs, libraries and mobile home communities) that serve at-risk children after school and during the summer months, while our Senior Nutrition initiative is a collaboration with Volunteers of America to provide hot meals for seniors at community meal sites in Larimer County. Our Nourishing Network program partners with other local nonprofit organizations that operate soup kitchens, day programs, shelters and more. Through Nourishing Network, these partner agencies can acquire food for their programs at a very minimal cost, allowing them to allocate more of their funding toward other services they provide, such as housing assistance or job training. With the help of thousands of generous volunteers and donors, the Food Bank for Larimer County is supporting health, hope and financial stability in our community.
