Mission Statement
Clayton Early Learning provides national leadership to advance the field of early childhood education by researching, implementing and disseminating innovative teaching models. We promote educational equity for young children through family engagement, teacher preparation and effective early childhood education policy.
About This Cause
Clayton Early Learning impacts the school-readiness of about 20,000 children in Colorado annually through services to children and families, research and evaluation, results-driven teacher training, and focused advocacy. Clayton is a data-driven, evidenced-based organization, routinely collecting and using data to measure child outcomes and identify effective strategies for helping children thrive, both within our own programs and for external partners. We conduct approximately 3,400 child assessments each year. We equip parents with the knowledge, skills and confidence in child development that will support their child’s growth throughout the child’s school career and life, we train and coach early childhood education professionals (2018: Clayton conducted 415 hours of direct training, 2,900+ hours of coaching and 49 training courses to 516 professionals from 20 counties.) working in hundreds of classrooms statewide and we directly serve more than 400 students from birth-to-5 each year in Denver and across Colorado. Clayton also plays an integral role in policy change for early care and learning initiatives and staff regularly serve as subject-matter experts to inform policy makers and elevate the early childhood system in Colorado. Clayton Early Learning harnesses the synergy of its four tiered approach – Research, Training, Practice and Advocacy – to advance early childhood education statewide in collaboration with other public and private entities.
