Mission Statement
HOUSE RABBIT RESOURCE NETWORK MISSION STATEMENT THE HOUSE RABBIT RESOURCE NETWORK IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION PROMOTING RABBIT WELFARE THROUGH EDUCATING PEOPLE ABOUT KEEPING RABBITS AS HOUSE PETS, FACILITATING RABBIT ADOPTIONS, AND PLACING RESCUED RABBITS IN FOSTER HOMES.
About This Cause
House Rabbit Resource Network, Inc. (HRRN) is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1993. We are an alternative placement organization for domestic rabbits surrendered to Austin area shelters that were otherwise euthanized. We opened our adoption center November 2009, creating a unique, rabbit only facility to meet the needs of our rabbits, members, and the community. All rabbits are spayed or neutered upon rescue. On-going veterinary care is provided as needed to keep our rabbits healthy. In addition to finding adoptive homes for our own shelter rabbits, HRRN partners with the Austin Animal Center (formerly Town Lake Animal Center) to facilitate rabbit adoptions and also provides for spays/neuters and veterinary care.
