About This Cause

Texas Equestrian Trail Riders Association, also known as TETRA, a 501(c) 3 organization formed in 1997 with a mission to promote all phases of trail riding, builds and maintains trails at facilities run by Corps of Engineers and Texas Parks and Wildlife to enhance the riding experience. TETRA educates the public as the care and conditioning of the horse for trail activities, environmental responsibilities, trail etiquette and safety; identify and improve new and existing equestrian facilities and horse trails in Texas parks and on public lands.TETRA promotes and develops equestrian-use arrangements with private enterprises and creates a communication network to develop equestrian public awareness. TETRA establish relationships with local, state, and federal trail management groups and provide documentation of existing equestrian trails in Texas. We continue to educate public agencies and private landowners about the economic and environmental impact of equestrian activities.
