Mission Statement

Oak Hill Youth Sports Association provides instructional, recreational and competitive baseball and softball for children ages 3 to 18 in the greater Austin, Texas area.

About This Cause

Founded in 1967, Oak Hill Youth Sports Association (OHYSA) is dedicated to serving the youth of southwest Austin and surrounding areas by providing instructional programming in baseball and softball. Recreational league play for ages 3 to 14 is offered January through May and again August through November, and for ages 14 through 18 in May through November. Competitive tournament play is offered throughout the year for ages 10 through 18. All Star play is offered for all ages May through July. A fully volunteer organization, OHYSA relies on a combination of elected and appointed Board and Committee members for fiscal and administrative oversight, and actively recruits a volunteer force of 250 - 300 annually to manage and coach players. Player registration fees cover less that 43% of annual operating costs. Due to this, OHYSA relies heavily on fundraising, sponsorships and direct donations to fully fund our program. Roughly 10% of our annual 1100 registered players receive some form of financial assistance via scholarships, fee waivers or payment plans. Many of our players are generational - with parents or in some cases grandparents having been former OHYSA players. Thus OHYSA is truly a community organization.
