"Evangelize people who have life-controlling problems and initiate the discipleship process to the point where the student can function as a Christian in Society applying spiritually motivated Biblical principals to relationships in the family, local church, chosen vocation, and the community. Teen Challenge endeavors to help people become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well, and spiritually alive."
About This Cause
Teen Challenge is one of the oldest, largest and most successful programs of its kind in the world. According to a 2015 behavioral health trend study, in the United States there were 27 million people aged 12 or older that had used an illegal drug in the last 30 days. Alcohol abuse had soared to 139.7 million people aged 12 or older. 16.3 million of those were heavy alcohol abusers. Teen challenge has responded with action to statistics like these. We provide residential care for hundreds of men and woman seeking freedom from life-controlling problems. We also work with the courts, local judicial systems and local law enforcement as an alternative to incarceration. We strive to enrich the community by helping shape individuals with spiritually motivated biblical principles through our discipleship process.
