Mission Statement
The Logan D Ellison Scholarship grants an annual scholarship to a student based on a hardship endured.
About This Cause
Logan D. Ellison, a child of only seven years, died tragically as a result of a car accident on 22 September 2001. His death has deeply affected his family and friends. This organization has been assembled to support the friends and family of Logan D. Ellison or other child lost to tragedy, or persons with similar hardship. Candidates will be required to submit with their application a statement of their hardship. The candidates will be judged upon their statements of hardship and their similarity to Logan’s tragedy. The support of this organization will be in the form of a grant paid to an education institution for the benefit of the scholarship recipient. The number and size of the scholarships will be based on the organization’s available funds and possibly the candidate’s hardship. The organization plans to provide at least two scholarships annually, one to a student of the Cannon Falls School District in Minnesota, and a second to a student of the Tomahawk School District in Wisconsin, Logan’s joint residences. The availability of the scholarships will be communicated directly to those school districts through their scholarship coordinators. Additional scholarships may be available, not limited to those school districts, without any publicity planned.
