About This Cause
Innovative Alternatives has been providing client-centered mediation and mental health services for 35 years, focusing on family preservation. We serve over 2,500 individuals annually across Harris, Galveston, Fort Bend, and Brazoria counties, offering support for divorce, family, workplace, and school conflicts, as well as various mental health issues. We offer free counseling to crime victims, sliding scale fees for uninsured individuals, and accept most insurance plans. Mediation Services: Family Reconciliation: Resolving family disputes and aiding complex decision-making processes. Family Intervention: Supporting families in convincing members to seek necessary treatment for mental health or substance abuse. Elder Care: Facilitating discussions about care options for aging family members. Divorce & Custody: Assisting in fair, objective divorce and custody decisions. Workplace Mediation: Resolving employee grievances and improving workplace culture. Multicultural Mediation: Diversity training through shared experiences and mutual learning. Mental Health Services: Counseling: Individual, family, and group therapy for anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and relationship issues. Victim Assistance: Tailored counseling for crime victims, including 8 free individual sessions and up to 18 hours of group therapy. Ministry Assistance: Faith-based pastoral care services, including support for churches and as a counseling agency for Houston’s 89.3 KSBJ Prayer Line. School-Based Violence Prevention: Bully-Proofing & Conflict Resolution: Reducing bullying and teaching conflict management in schools. Peer Mediation: Training students to mediate disputes and foster mutual understanding. Anger Management: Helping students manage anger and improve relationships. Santa Fe Support: Ongoing counseling and support services in response to the 2018 Santa Fe school shooting. Leadership Development: Internship Program: Providing clinical and non-clinical internships in mental health, business, and social work, with placements for bilingual students in Clear Lake, Santa Fe, and local schools.
