Assistance League of the Bay Area is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for at-risk populations through community-based philanthropic programs.

About This Cause

Who We Serve: Students, ages 4-18 who are defined as economically disadvantaged by the Texas Education Agency due to qualification of free or reduced lunch, adults who are re-entering the workforce after loss of job, individuals who have been victims of abuse, and other community members as referred to us. We have eight philanthropies: 1. Community Outreach: Provides the means for chapter to respond with goods or services to community needs on a one-time or short-term basis. 2. Operation Cinderella: Provides high school seniors in need with everything necessary, from formal dresses to tux rental gift certificates, for a positive prom experience. 4. Operation School Bell®: Provides clothing, undergarments, socks, shoes, and hygiene kits to school-age students in Clear Creek ISD, Dickinson ISD, Friendswood ISD, La Porte ISD, and the Bay Area Charter School System. 5. Partnership w/Communities In Schools-Bay Area Inc.: Provides a variety of support services to at-risk students. 6. Ready for Work in partnership with United Way Bay Area Financial Opportunity Center: Assists adults in obtaining interview-appropriate clothing through personal shopping at our facility. 7. Survivor Assault Kits - Provides clothing & hygiene items for those persons who have been assaulted and need assistance to have appropriate clothing to leave the hospital after receiving treatment.
