HEALTHCARE FOR THE HOMELESS-HOUSTON

HOUSTON, Texas, 77002 United States

Mission Statement

The mission of Healthcare for the Homeless - Houston (HHH) is to promote health, hope and dignity for Houston's homeless through accessible and comprehensive care. This mission is fulfilled through the provision of integrated primary and behavioral healthcare and specialized support services to a vulnerable and marginalized population of homeless men, women and children. Services are delivered via three primary care clinics throughout central Houston, a three-operatory dental clinic, jail and hospital inreach initiatives, a street medicine program, outreach services for chronically homeless individuals in Permanent Supportive Housing, vision services, and a transportation project. Our core programming is centered on collectively meeting the needs of the homeless community and addressing the distinctive needs of various sub-populations of individuals who are homeless - from women and children fleeing domestic violence to those suffering from severe mental illness.

About This Cause

From its beginnings in 1999, HHH has emerged as a community leader for providing specialized care to homeless individuals and for our initiatives aimed to systemically improving how care is administered to a vulnerable population. As the only stand-alone Homeless Healthcare Center in Houston, we fill an unduplicated gap in the community and are essential for combating homelessness as a key local and national issue. HHH aims to promote health, hope and dignity to homeless individuals through comprehensive services that help them regain stability and independence.
