Mission Statement
Mighty Women Paddling Club, Inc. is a non-profit, competitive, year-round Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Club in Portland, Oregon. We are an adventurous group of women with a competitive spirit and a strong sense of community on and off the boat. We provide a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for women to feel a sense of place and belonging, nurture strong bonds with others, develop their athletic ability, and build leadership skills.
About This Cause
Mighty Women Paddling Club, Inc. (MWPC) is a licensed 501(c)(3) organization and we rely on our fundraising efforts to help lower overall team expenses and to help cover the costs for members who may occasionally require financial assistance. To help in our fundraising and to add more away races to our schedule, we are looking for additional donations and potential community sponsors. Here are just a few things that your generous donation would pay for... $35-$55 would cover a race participation fee for one team member $150-$200 would cover the annual dues for one team member $500-$750 would cover our cost to participate in a local race $1,000-$2,000 would help our team get to an out of town race MWPC finds several ways to give back to our local community each year, such as canned food drives for the Sunshine Division, volunteering at The Oregon Food Bank, raising money for the Annie Ross House, SOLV Beach and River Cleanups, and other activities. We welcome new ideas for community involvement.
