Mission Statement
Vision: Our Vision is to “Ensure a sustainable, community-focused model of education that provides excellence at all levels, and prepares every Jacaranda student to be a leader in their communities and in the wider Malawi and Africa.” Mission: To achieve this, our Mission is holistically “Educating underprivileged children in Malawi, and providing the tools to help them realise their potential.”
About This Cause
Founded in 2002, the Jacaranda Foundation, a 501 (c) 3 registered charity, has changed the lives of thousands of children.We provide comprehensive, free education and care to orphans and vulnerable children in Malawi through our Primary and Secondary School programs. Our educational model fosters the development of strong values, healthy self-esteem, and independent thinking. We focuson life skills and leadership training, and offer enrichment activities and clubs. In 2021, we launched a vocational program, ensuring the oldest students are given the skills to find employment; in 2022 we opened an early education center, giving our youngest students a strong educational foundation.This completed the educational arc of Jacaranda, ensuringthat all children have the opportunities they need to succeed. Many of our students have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS and are being raised by single parents or grandparents. With the knowledge that strong families and the community are the best support for orphans and vulnerable children, we have initiatives to strengthen our students’ families and the surrounding communities.
