Mission Statement
The San Antonio Lien Hoa Dao Trang (aka Lien Hoa Buddhist Temple) was founded in 2005 as a Buddhist temple in the Mahayana tradition of Zen Buddhism or Lam Te Chuc Thanh tradition as practiced in Vietnam. We aspires the following: - Celebrate Buddhist ceremonies and traditions. - Establish a resource centre for Buddhist study and teaching for all ages. - Apply Buddhist teachings within the sangha and community at large. - Carry out educational, charitable, and other services for the happiness and welfare of the community and all sentient beings. - Present the Dharma (Buddha's teaching) in a way that is relevant and understandable. - Welcome all who seek the Dharma regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. - Be a positive presence in our local community, working to enhance the vitality of our neighborhood.
About This Cause
The San Antonio Lien Hoa Dao Trang (aka Lien Hoa Buddhist Temple) was founded in 2005 by venerable Thich Chuc Thien along with the lay people. For more than 10 years, we provide a place for anyone who wishes to transform the seeds of greed, hate, and delusions within them into wholesome seeds such as compassion and loving-kindness through programs such as: - Seasonal retreats, meditation retreats, and Repentance retreats. - Vietnamese classes for children between the age of 7-17. - Dharma classes for children between the age of 7-17. - Dealing with Addictions Additionally, anyone who is going through difficult times in their life and need a moment to pause may be able to find solitude, peace, and tranquility through walking meditation around our temple or sitting meditation in the Buddha Hall. We are a non-profit religious institution and rely on the lay community, volunteers, and donation to exist. We will always do our best to serve and benefit all sentient beings and each individual without seeking profit. We welcome everyone who wishes to tour our temple or seek the Dharma regardless of race, religion, sex, national origin, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression.
