Mission Statement
The Museum of American Heritage (MOAH) is the Bay Area's only museum exclusively dedicated to the history of technological innovation prior to the age of computers.
About This Cause
MOAH is the Bay Area's only museum dedicated exclusively to the history of technological innovation in the pre-transistor age. MOAH is an interactive learning center whose purpose is to show inventions of the past. Our Museum is a family friendly learning environment where visitors of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to explore scientific and technological history through our unique exhibits, classes, and special events. Originally opened in 1990, MOAH relocated to the century-old Williams' house in downtown Palo Alto in 1997. The historic Ruth Bell Lane Memorial Garden houses a Victory Garden, a replica of World War II produce. Indoor exhibits include temporary and permanent exhibitions located in the Williams' century-old home. The Livermore Learning Center (LLC) at MOAH is utilized for programming such as lectures, summer concerts, classes and special events for learners of all ages. In addition to our exhibits and programs, MOAH maintains a collection of over 8,000 historic electrical and mechanical artifacts.
