About This Cause

Since 1986, San Jose Jazz, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit has celebrated jazz as a dynamic, evolving art form and is producer of the annual San José Jazz Summer Fest. SJZ preserves the jazz tradition while actively supporting the next generation of performers within the genre and beyond. We serve more than 1,000 students with five programs that work in tandem to foster learning, growth, and excellence in students throughout their academic journey from grades K-12, including our K-8 El-Sistema Progressions program, Summer Jazz Camp, High School All Stars, and various other school concerts and jazz camps. Our performance programming includes scores of free concerts and jams per year in San José venues and on our mobile Boombox Truck stage, we support the local ecosystem of musicians with gigs and resources that help them to do their work. We actively seek out new audiences and artists that are pushing the music forward with our Jazz Beyond programming, Jazz Aid Fund, and New Works Fest.
