Mission Statement
The National Ski Patrol is a member-driven professional organization of registered ski patrols, patrollers, and others, both paid and volunteer. The NSP supports its members through credentialed education and training in leadership, Outdoor Emergency Care, safety, and transportation services, which enables members to serve the community in the safe enjoyment of outdoor recreation.
About This Cause
The Far West Divisions (FWD) is one of eleven Divisions of the National Ski Patrol (NSP) consisting of patrols and host units in California, Nevada and Arizona. The primary function of the division is to provide education through the delivery of programs of the NSP. The FWD is structured as five regions with forty two patrols plus several Mountain Host Units divided geographically within the regions. Members of the FWD/ NSP can serve as agents to managing entities in the outdoor recreation industry, at ski areas, National Forests and the National Park Service on both public and private lands. NSP's vision is to be recognized as the premier provider of training and education programs for emergency rescuers who serve the outdoor recreation community. Our curriculum-based programs achieved the level of an industry leader like Outdoor Emergency Care (OEC).
