Mission Statement
Kendo is the "Way of the Sword", a Japanese martial art dedicated to cultivating the mind, spirit, and body through the application of the principles of the katana (Japanese sword).
About This Cause
San Jose Kendo Dojo has been an influential Kendo school in the United States since it was founded in 1962 with the intention of maintaining and teaching Japanese culture through martial arts. Based on the principles of the Japanese sword or samurai philosophy, we emphasize valor, benevolence, righteousness, courtesy, and honesty in addition to perseverance, and dignity. We accept anyone age 8 and over.
