Mission Statement

The Palo Alto Community Fund focuses on the unique needs of our community and channels charitable giving of local donors to effective organizations that improve the quality of life for everyone in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park. We value the work of nonprofits in addressing the needs of our community with creative and innovative solutions. We help nonprofit organizations fulfill their charitable, civic, and educational missions by making grants that will have maximum impact in our community and by offering educational and networking opportunities for our grantees. We support established organizations as well as providing seed money for new approaches and organizations.

About This Cause

PACF conducts an annual appeal for donations from the local community for pass-through grants and for the endowment fund. We distribute grants to local nonprofits through Annual Grants of $5,000-$25,000 in the Spring; Impact Grants of $50,000 - $100,000 in the Spring; Emergency Grants as urgent needs arise throughout the year; and Executive Director Grants supporting nonprofit leaders in the community. Grants are made to nonprofits who operate in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto and Menlo Park. PACF supports the movement toward trust-based philanthropy providing general operating support to grantees.
