KANSAS CITY ANTI VIOLENCE PROJECT

KANSAS CITY, Missouri, 64116 United States

Mission Statement

The Kansas City Anti-Violence Project (KCAVP) provides dedicated services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) youth and adults, throughout Missouri and Kansas, who have experienced trauma, violence, harassment or neglect. Through direct advocacy, professional training and community education, we work to prevent and respond to domestic violence, sexual violence and hate crimes.

About This Cause

Kansas City Anti-Violence Project, KCAVP, works with LGBTQ and people perceived to be those identities who are survivors of violence. We provide direct advocacy, housing support, legal support, medical support, help with a name change, gender marker change, clothing closet, food pantry and free training for community partners and service providers. KC Passages, one of the oldest LGBTQ youth groups in the nation, is a program of KCAVP. KC Passages meets every week and provides youth 20 and under with a free meal, social support, connections to resources and workshops/programs.
