ANIMAL RESCUE OF TRACY

TRACY, California, 95376-4753 United States

Mission Statement

We rescue and nurture companion animals with the mission of finding them safe and happy adoptive homes. We strive to create community awareness of the importance of spaying and neutering to avoid overpopulation and reduce the community euthanasia rate.

About This Cause

Animal Rescue of Tracy was founded in 1994 to meet an increasing need for compassionate care for abandoned or mistreated pets. Animal Rescue of Tracy, CA has been been a 501c3 all-volunteer Rescue since 2003. In 2022 Animal Rescue of Tracy found homes for over 450 cats and dogs, spending almost $150K to do so. ART has successfully found homes for over 6500 cats and dogs since our inception. We continue to serve over 4,500 Tracy area families directly and indirectly annually -- through partnerships with 9 non-profits. Since 2021 our “Compassion to Action” Internship Program has helped high school students who commit to volunteering every week for an entire school year learn valuable life skills and take on added responsibility. In return Interns who successfully complete the program receive letters of recommendation, certificates of achievement, a letterman patch and monetary awards. We also provide Tracy High School Agricultural/Scientific Academy job shadows, work with West High Space/Engineering program attendees, Boy Scouts of America Eagle Scouts and 4H members to design and implement projects like an Information & Referral kiosk that help us better serve the community.
