FRESH MEAT PRODUCTIONS builds community by creating, presenting and touring year-round transgender and LGBT arts programs. Our programs include the FRESH MEAT FESTIVAL and SEAN DORSEY DANCE.
About This Cause
FRESH MEAT PRODUCTIONS builds community by creating, presenting and touring year-round transgender and LGBT arts programs. Based in San Francisco, our award-winning arts programs pursue cultural activism, social justice and community transformation. Our multidisciplinary programs promote the development of Bay Area transgender artists and arts organizations and expand the body of original work authentically expressing transgender experience. OUR PROGRAMS include: - FRESH MEAT FESTIVAL: our annual festival of transgender and queer performance (June) - SEAN DORSEY DANCE: annual San Francisco home season by our resident dance company - directed by transgender choreographer Sean Dorsey (April) - SEAN DORSEY DANCE: national touring performances, teaching and community residencies - NATIONAL COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT RESIDENCIES: we travel across the US and conduct Community Engagement Residencies (workshops, classes, community conversations, panels) - ARTS SERVICES PROGRAM: we support emerging transgender organizations - INTERNSHIPS and MENTORSHIP: we provide learning opportunities for transgender, queer and LGBT people OUR IMPACT: - Last year, Fresh Meat Productions' PROGRAMS REACHED OVER 15,000 people!
