Mission Statement
We rescue & rehabilitate animals, primarily horses. We provide them with food, shelter, medical care and an emotionally supportive environment until they can be placed in a loving home. Occasionally, a horse that is unable to be placed, will remain as a permanent resident at the rescue.
About This Cause
Our mission is "to rescue and rehabilitate animals, particularly horses, that have been injured, abused, neglected, abandoned or orphaned. We carry out this mission by providing good nutrition, medical care and emotional support in a safe and nurturing environment." Our rescues come from many different situations. Some are from feed lots (the last stop before slaughter), some are here because they were going to be euthanized when owners didn't want to/couldn't put forth the money and/or time to rehab them from an injury, some were on their way to auction, all of them had no other option available to them. There are between 10 and 16 (currently 16) rescue horses here at any given time. We are always looking for adopters for the horses that are ready to be re-homed. We also always welcome volunteers, as well as sponsors for any of the horses to help pay for their medical care and feed. It costs $5/day just for feed for 1 horse and $300/month for their bedding, stall cleaning. The $300/month also includes their feed. A sponsorship can be a one time or ongoing monthly donation. A rescue facility has many needs. Most of these needs require funds and donations are always appreciated and are tax deductible. The horses have ongoing veterinary and blacksmith needs in addition to needing food, bedding and shelter. Ways you can help include: Donate funds for veterinary and blacksmith care, rehabilitation, maintaining and building housing and exercise areas. Donate feed, bedding, building materials. Donate time or labor to help with animal care and farm maintenance.
