About This Cause
Founded in 2009, the iWRITE Non-Profit Organization builds student confidence through writing. Kids thrive if they are able to be creative, yet today we see education becoming more standardized and students and teachers becoming more stressed. We make learning fun by getting on the creative level of the student through our workshops, story journals and writing contests. Every student who participates in iWRITE programs becomes a better writer, and through their story characters, discovers something new about themselves and others. Some write stories that are ultimately selected for publication. Those who are published attend a luncheon and book-signing event in their honor. For some, it’s that first taste of success that can last a lifetime. We have professionally published over 650 students across the globe in the 3rd-12th grade and work with thousands of students inside our Houston elementary schools with our "i" The Guy mascot and creative writing program. Students in our programs become more confident, which opens the door to opportunities they never had before.
