Mission Statement
EFGH is a non-profit organization that promotes high-quality and affordable French Education in Houston. We teach our students to write, read, and engage in French. We help them become more autonomous using an exciting and challenging curriculum. We are dedicated to providing a quality program that is well-proven, customized, and affordable.
About This Cause
Education Française Greater Houston is an educational French program for children who attend an American school. Its goal is to help students master the French language in speaking, reading, and writing. Since 2010, EFGH has been offering a tailored and unique after-school educational program to more than 1800 students aged 4 to 18 in greater Houston. Seventy percent of them take the French native language program, FLAM and thirty percent take the French foreign language program, FLE. Every year, more than 100 families from over 25 nationalities entrust us with their children's education. Our French Immersion Summer Camp, designed for both native French speakers and beginners, welcomes children from 5 to 10 on an amazing journey through the times and cultures of francophone countries. It is supervised by a native French director and counselors and provides a creative, playful, and interactive environment exclusively in French! All year long, EFGH students participate in free, extra multi-disciplinary activities in French: the Degas exhibit at MFAH, at the France Pavilion to meet French contemporary artists, LeNôtre Institute to cook with a French chef and other artistic and cultural events. EFGH actively partners with local organizations and schools to serve our community. The storytelling project with the Texas French Alliance of Arts (TFAA), which allowed children from Houston and Burkina Faso to interact and learn from each other, was a huge success, which we hope to recreate. EFGH contributes to every child's French education by offering affordable tuition and scholarships. We are proud to see children grow with EFGH and become part of the global world. EFGH prepares students for the DELF (Diplôme d'Etudes en Langue Française), the official diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to certify foreign candidates' proficiency in French.
