Mission Statement

The Jeremy Wilson Foundation (JWF) provides support to musicians and music industry workers in Oregon and Clark County, Washington as they navigate health-related challenges. Through our Musician Health & Services Program we provide two equally important services to eligible applicants: Navigation support and financial assistance.

About This Cause

Since 2010, the Jeremy Wilson Foundation 501(c)3 (JWF) has been dedicated to improving the overall well-being of local musicians and their families during times of medical crisis. Singer-songwriter Jeremy Wilson, a lifelong working musician whose bands include the Dharma Bums and Pilot, was inspired to launch the JWF after being diagnosed with a serious congenital heart condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White and enduring four surgeries. This experience quickly exposed the harsh reality of navigating the healthcare system as an artist and independent contractor, and the need for better access to healthcare in the musical community. the JWF Musician Health and Services Program is a safety net for musicians and their families facing debilitating medical crises. The JWF creates better access to resources and information to help improve the state of musicians’ health and healthcare, and, in turn, their careers and financial and overall well-being. Navigating the complex and confusing options for care and support can feel hopeless — especially in times of physical, financial, and emotional stress. The JWF ensures musicians, music workers, and their families don’t have to do it alone.
