About This Cause
AboutKidz is about helping kids and their families by meeting practical needs. Our First Day event serves 1,000 students each year. We believe that every child should have a fabulous first day of school and feel confident and excited for the start of a new school year. So we provide free brand new back packs loaded with grade specific school supplies for 1,000 K-12 students. We also give them a brand new outfit and shoes as well. Our Grad Day tutoring program helps elementary students that are struggling to maintain grade level standards. Private tutoring is very expensive and we believe that every kids should experience high school graduation regardless of their financial situation. We partner with local college bound high school students to provide free one-on-one and small group tutoring throughout the school year. AboutKidz provides the high school tutors with scholarship funds at the conclusion of the school year. Our Game Day program introduces children to organized youth sports. We believe kids can learn so many important life lessons through organized sports and money shouldn't be a barrier. We sponsor baseball, basketball, and soccer teams and provide everything each child on the team needs. We pay the registration fee, purchase equipment, and even supply the coaches for this unique experience. For many of the kids, its their first time putting on a uniform and experiencing a game day.
