Mission Statement
ReJews establishes and promotes renewable energy and recycling initiatives to help support the success of environmental action, social entrepreneurship, and sustainability programs in schools, synagogues, recreation centers, restaurants, businesses, and offices, and communities around the world.
About This Cause
The goals of ReJews are those that are aligned with the spread of recycling initiatives and renewable energy programs throughout the Jewish world and greater community. ReJews has identified countless schools, synagogues, offices, restaurants, recreation centers and communities around the world that use hundreds of plastic bottles, if not thousands of plastic bottles on a daily basis that are not put into recycling bins. Many community members are also homeowners, and would benefit from installing solar panels in an effort to help reduce the stress on the grid. ReJews gives organizations recycling bins and encourages them to recycle. Supporting participation with incentives and a rewards program, organizations can gain benefit from donations and other sponsorship opportunities as a result of their participation with ReJews. A constant in all of our lives, a problem that we must account for is that everyone uses electricity at home, and energy supply problems can lead to blackouts. Last summer, there were blackouts in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, in Long Island, throughout Upstate, and across New Jersey. Plain and simple, more people have spent more time at home, so we are using more electricity than ever, and that’s before air-conditioning season begins. To address this issue, government programs are helping offer homeowners thousands of dollars in tax credits and discounted monthly electricity bills. Providing incentives to produce electricity instead of just consuming it, especially during the times that we are all facing, solar panels improve our infrastructure, save us money, and help ensure that we keep our power on.
