Mission Statement

The mission of the Sheridan Senior Center is to improve the lives of adults, aged 55 and older, through caring service, with opportunities for social interaction, basic support and nutritional lunches.

About This Cause

The Sheridan Senior Center was established in 1979. It's primary purpose then, was to provide noon meals for seniors in the Sheridan area. It has grown from serving 10 to 15 meals a day, Monday through Friday, to serving 50 or more meals a day. Along with the original purpose of providing meals, our goal is to improve the quality of life of our seniors, by providing a place to gather with activities and services including: nutritional lunches, health education, cultural programs, trips for fun and education, recreational and social activities such as bingo, bridge and cards. During the last year we moved from a small house with a residential kitchen, to our new senior center. It has a commercial kitchen as well as space for more seniors to dine. Our new facility provides plenty of room to host meetings, community events, programs and health services. It is handicapped accessible, and located close to the hospital, pharmacy and assisted living. It is a great place where every person is treated with dignity and respect. The lives of our participants, our volunteers, and our staff are enriched through the fellowship and fun experienced at the Senior Center. Senior CEnter.
