Mission Statement

The two conditions most responsible for the plight of impoverished and vulnerable individuals throughout the developing world are the lack of access to clean, safe drinking water and a clean and efficient method of cooking. Lifeline is addressing this problem by producing fresh water wells, implementing community-led hygiene and sanitation initiatives and promoting the widespread adoption of fuel-efficient stoves as an alternative to cooking on an open "three-stone" fire.

About This Cause

Our vision is simple - a world in which no one is forced to drink contaminated water or expose themselves, their family and their environment to the harms associated with cooking on an open fire. Lifeline's programs use entrepreneurial problem solving and cost-effective technologies to provide sustainable solutions to the communities that Lifeline works with. Lifeline's goal is to provide individuals with the tools and resources they need to lift themselves out of poverty. Lifeline operates a Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene program in Uganda and has implemented clean cooking programs in Haiti, Kenya, Sudan, Burundi and Uganda although our primary focus is on expanding our presence in Haitian and Ugandan fuel-efficient stove markets.
