About This Cause

The Yeshiva Nesivos Hatorah Story October 2015: Under the leadership of Rabbi Gad Mayer Censor, a small group of parents conceive the idea of a brand new Yeshiva to serve the needs of the rapidly expanding Lakewood community. September 2016: After much planning, the vision becomes a reality as Yeshiva Nesivos Hatorah opens its doors with a class of 23 boys. September 2017: The Yeshiva moves to a more permanent location to provide room for continued growth September 2018: A parallel class for Primary is added as enrollment reaches a total of 92 Talmidim. January 2019: The Yeshiva hires Rabbi Moshe Wilhelm to serve as Menahel of the Yeshiva. After its first year in a starter facility, it was time to seek a new location. The Yeshiva leased what was formerly the Board of Education and Public-School premises at 655 Princeton Avenue, an icon to old-time Lakewood residents. When contractors were first brought in to renovate, they seemed skeptical. It seemed impossible to turn it into a functional facility. With much Siyata Dishmaya and with the help of many dedicated parents, the Yeshiva now has a beautiful building that the Talmidim are enjoying daily. Multiple large classrooms, airy hallways and expansive indoor and outdoor play space are just some of the areas that were included in the renovations. Visitors who walk into the building are impressed with the warm and inviting atmosphere. The Yeshiva’s Shem Tov and glowing reputation is only surpassed by the ability of this quickly-growing school to remain so keenly focused on each Talmid. Empowering each child with the skills and confidence to shine in the classroom and beyond is the goal of the handpicked Rabbeim and teachers. A Rebbe travels a long distance to bring Chizuk and comfort to a young talmid experiencing a medical ordeal. The Yeshiva arranges special daily transportation to accommodate those families living in the towns surrounding Lakewood, no easy feat to anyone familiar with the local bussing scene. Going above and beyond for each child is etched into the very foundations of this young yet very vibrant moisad. Yeshiva Nesivas Hatorah is now celebrating its sixth year of exceptional Chinuch Habanim: imbuing each Talmid with Yiras shamayim, Midos Tovos and a lifelong passion for learning. Rabbi Ruvy Ungarischer the founding Primary rebbe relates “There is an enthusiasm here that is unique. The parents take tremendous pride in what’s been accomplished and feel privileged to be a part of the Nesivos Hatorah family.”
