Mission Statement
Over the past several decades, investment in public education in California has slowly been on the decline. While we were once at the top of the nation in spending for education, the Golden State has steadily fallen to the bottom. Crowded classrooms, lack of resources, and increasing cost of higher education make attaining a quality education in California more difficult than ever before. Evolve Education Fund is dedicated to informing Californians about the problems facing our public education system. By shedding a light on this issue, we hope to spark a greater conversation on what our state can do to begin re-investing in our future.
About This Cause
The Evolve Education Fund is dedicated to educating Californians about some of the most pressing issues facing our state today. Despite California's continued economic growth and the development of industries like Silicon Valley, investment in public education, public services, and infrastructure is at an all-time low. To continue California's growth, we need to make sure that the public goods we all rely on are adequately funded. The mission of the Evolve Education Fund is to inform Californians of the factors that affect funding for public schools and services and to develop policy ideas on how we can ensure these goods receive the funding they need in a way that benefits California residents. We organize local grassroots education efforts to community leaders, policy makers and the general public. Our priority project this year is to build a comprehensive database of all 30,000 public officials in California. We will include the policy positions of these officials and make this information easily accessible online. Very little is known about the people that serve, or the spending authority and powers of these state and local districts because this information is not readily available to the general public.
