Mission Statement
MIB Agents is a leading pediatric osteosarcoma non-profit dedicated to Making It Better for our community of patients, caregivers, doctors, and researchers through programs, education, and research.
About This Cause
MIB was founded by osteosarcoma (bone cancer) survivor Ann Graham. In 2010, while training for a marathon at age 42, her knee began to have severe pain. The pain turned out to be osteosarcoma, a primary bone cancer, which typically occurs in kids aged 10-17. Age notwithstanding, she was treated in the pediatric cancer center at Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. She was inspired, amazed, and astounded by the courage, cheerfulness, and determination of her fellow young patients. She was also heartbroken when they lost their limbs and far too often, their lives to cancer. As an adult and mother in pediatrics, she just wanted to make it better for those kids suffering. She survived her cancer and has dedicated her life to Make It Better for children fighting cancer. She began MIB Agents (before she knew what to call it) with a mission for Alyssa Grace Divers with whom she was treated for osteosarcoma. Alyssa's treatment failed, which led to an amputation, a failed clinical trial, and ultimately hospice care. Determined to ensure the time she had left would be happy, she called on friends to help create a fabulous NYC experience for the young dancer. They did just that, two weeks after Alyssa's mission was accomplished, she passed away just shy of her 12th birthday. The missions kept coming, and Ann and her friends and family kept accomplishing them. Five years after Alyssa's mission, MIB Agents became an official 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. This national nonprofit organization Makes It Better through education resources, patient support programs, and research funding. MIB Agents hosts the only osteosarcoma conference that brings patients, caregivers, doctors, and researchers together to move osteosarcoma treatment and research forward. None of this is possible without the ongoing support of our donors, volunteers, community, and corporate partners. If you can help us Make It Better, we welcome donations in any amount with gratitude. Thank you for using your powers for good.
