The Science Connected mission is to foster equity in education, create new STEM education pathways for historically underrepresented learners, and increase scientific literacy in under-resourced communities.
About This Cause
Science Connected fosters equity in education, creates new STEM education pathways for historically underrepresented learners, and increases scientific literacy in under-resourced communities. We value lifelong learning, conservancy, and empowering others to make informed choices to support a healthy planet. We believe that cultivating an informed citizenry is vital to democracy. We support equitable, inclusive public education and using plain language to achieve clear and effective communication. Our organization views science as a space for growth, opportunity, community, environmental stewardship, education, and interaction. We put this view into practice by creating a collaborative space for researchers, citizen scientists, educators, and science communicators to write about scientific projects that will change our world. And because we also report on the culture and politics surrounding science, we often focus on its human side, offering a place for scientists and community members to tell their stories. In addition to publishing Science Connected Magazine, we produce teaching guides, lab manuals, and paperback anthologies.
