Mission Statement
The mission of Hearts of Wheels (HOW) is to help eradicate the diminutive life progressions of our at-risk and economically disadvantaged youth through our car ownership and mentoring program (COMP). Here at Hearts of Wheels, we have found that our less fortunate youth are ill-equipped to pull themselves from the grips of poverty and crime. Hearts of wheels would like to fill that gap by providing donated or at cost transportation to these less fortunate youth. Our mission is to show them HOW they can navigate the road to success. Hearts of Wheels offer a one year mentee program called (COMP) Car Ownership and Mentoring Program (COMP) which grants these youth a car and train them to become more independent and gainfully employed. We require our youth to pay back to the communities in which they live to show their appreciation for this opportunity and be responsible for the upkeep of the car and maintaining car insurance. We have come to learn that a major key to fighting crime committed by today’s youth is to provide them the tools to find a way to better education and employment!
About This Cause
Hearts of Wheels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization on a mission to help eradicate the diminutive life progressions of our economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth through our Car Ownership and Mentoring Program (COMP) and driver’s training. Today many of our less fortunate youth are ill-equipped to pull themselves from the grips of poverty and crime. They find themselves missing opportunities that a small means of reliable and safe transportation would provide. Hearts of Wheels wants to fill that gap by providing donated transportation, coupled with our driver's training classes that extend from the driver's permit to the driver’s license. We will assist our economically disadvantaged and at-risk youth between the ages of 17-26, by providing them a way to escape the job conundrums that lead them down a path of poverty and crime. They will have a means of reliable, supervised transportation to transport themselves to that job at night or that trade school off the local bus route. Hearts of Wheels will open doors of opportunities for them to obtain their driver's license, a means to a donated car, a means to insure that car, and the skills and knowledge to maintain that car. Here at Hearts of Wheels our mission is to show them HOW they can navigate the road to success!
