LATINO CULTURAL ARTS CENTER

DENVER, Colorado, 80204-4112 United States

Mission Statement

The LCAC is a grass-roots cultural art center that was born from a community-engaged research project. We leverage social impact with economic empowerment to the benefit of artists, educators, youth, and families. Our programs and partnerships span environmental stewardship, mental health, and workforce development while guided by three Values: Imaginative Excellence, Cultural Courage, and Collective Impact. Our Vision imagines a Cultural Campus across central Denver that celebrates Latinidad: A rich and complex experience that is simultaneously Indigenous, African, Asian, and European and always evolving.

About This Cause

The LCAC is in the process of remodeling two warehouses we are calling Las Bodegas (Spanish for warehouses). These will become a catalyst that empowers the next generation of inspiring story tellers, while contributing to growing and important sectors in Colorado’s economy by making them more accessible and dynamic. The space will be powered by electricity (not gas) and consist of two artist studios, a multimedia lab, four flexible classrooms, and a café. Our objectives include: 1) Advancing inspiring stories about Denver and Colorado; 2) Embodying cultural courage, imaginative excellence and collective impact, and 3) Building a pipeline into lucrative and rewarding careers across diverse industries, including mental health, water and energy for artists, educators, youth and families.
