Mission Statement
We are dedicated to dedicated to promoting girls’ participation in baseball and fostering their love of the game. Our program aims to supplement co-ed little league, school-based, and travel team baseball by connecting girls who play, developing their skills, and offering them competitive opportunities in a positive environment. We focus on inclusion and welcome girls of all skill levels. Our vision is that no girl will face a barrier to play. We value culture above all; our goal is to help our players become thoughtful, supportive, and hardworking teammates who believe in themselves and each other. We aspire to offer a unique experience of confidence, community, and competition that our players will carry with them on the diamond, in their classrooms, in the workforce, and throughout their lives.
About This Cause
We provide various baseball related programs for girls who are just starting out to those who have played for years. Players usually age out at around 19 years of age. Programs include regularly scheduled practices, weight training, and other social get togethers for girls who want to play baseball with other girls. Several tournaments a year are played around the DC area as well as other parts of the country at various age levels. We receive our revenues in various ways including annual memberships, fees for programs, and different donations and fundraising drives to allow the girls to attend all the activities that DCGB provides. Those with lower incomes are offered discounted (or free) rates for any and all of our programs.
