Our mission is to save the lives of senior, medical, large breed, and longterm stay dogs at overcrowded animal shelters, and find them forever families.
About This Cause
Outta the Cage began when a group of technology professionals began volunteering at high-kill shelters. This boots-on-the-ground effort – and the data we collected on every dog – taught us that in order to get adopted, shelter dogs needed to get seen. Outta the Cage rescues on at-risk dogs, including seniors, medical, longterm stay, and special-needs dogs from overcrowded animal shelters in southern California. These dogs are often overlooked by potential adopters but, through targeted networking, video sharing, and assistance with medical and training expenses, we can help them become wonderful forever family members!
