Mission Statement
Founded in 2013 by north Georgia cyclists. We empower volunteers with a vision for cycling as a lifelong sport. We are a 501(c) 3 nonprofit that provides leadership, services and support to programs that promote cycling/mountain biking for life-long healthy living and we built and maintain trails.
About This Cause
Our elementary, middle and high school mountain bike teams compete in the Georgia Cycling Association and support every student-athlete in the development of strong body, strong mind and strong character. As of 2020 we created 10 local teams in the North Georgia area, we practice over 240 student-athletes and provide a scholarship program and loaner bike program for needy families as well as helping each volunteer coach organize team practices, communication and logistics. Donations helped us build trails at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta and Cool Springs Park for our growing teams. Our current trail builds are at East Hall Community Center and the Boys & Girls Club in Oakwood, GA. We place storage sheds on each site. We purchase first aid packs for the volunteer coaches. We stock the shed with bike tubes and a tool set to fix bikes. We even scholarship'd several coaches who wanted to become first aid certified. It's the fastest growing high school sport in the nation because there are no bench warmers, everybody learns to ride and it is challenge by choice. The average cost of a good bike and helmet is $900. To scholarship a students entire season is $400. A volunteer coach can be Level 1 certified for $400. To be Level 3 certified a volunteer coach must spend over $900. Building sustainable trail costs an average of $12,000 per mile. We impact entire families! Our MTB program has inspired many families to start riding together and has changed the lives of students who were slipping into patterns of disobedience, depression and obesity. When we say that 200 students rode with us during the season the impact was at least three times that when you consider the families impacted.
