Mission Statement
Heart of Courage empowers single mothers impacted by the child welfare system, trauma, and caregiving challenges by providing compassionate support, advocacy, and access to mental health and wellness resources—restoring hope, healing, and the strength to thrive.
About This Cause
Heart of Courage is a nonprofit organization dedicated to walking alongside single mothers as they navigate some of life’s most difficult challenges, including involvement with Child Protective Services (CPS), raising children with disabilities, and recovering from trauma and addiction. We believe every mother deserves to be heard, supported, and given the tools to heal and succeed. Our holistic approach combines one-on-one mentorship, court advocacy, case management, and free mental health counseling. Through programs like Courage2Change and Get It Out, Sis!, we provide a safe and supportive space where mothers can explore their identities, strengthen emotional resilience, and rebuild their lives with dignity. Heart of Courage is committed to breaking cycles of crisis and disconnection by helping mothers access stability, build confidence, and nurture strong, healthy families.
