Our organization is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of modern American tattooing.

About This Cause

We opened our tattoo shop when tattooing was legalized in NYC in1997. In 2013 we moved to a location large enough to showcase our collection of antique tattoo memorabilia spanning the last 100+ years of tattooing. New York City is the birthplace of modern American tattooing. We founded NYC Tattoo History to preserve and share that history with the public.
