Mission Statement

The I Mission is a non-profit charitable organization that raises funds in the Portland metropolitan area in an effort to help the impoverished and visually challenged population across the world. In the local area, The I Mission hosts educational workshops and cultural events such that people of all ages will benefit from our fun and engaging activities. Lastly, once every year, The I Mission crew goes on a service trip to an impoverished part of the world where quality eye treatment is unavailable. During the service trip, The I Mission uses funds from our local events and workshops for funding cataract surgeries, retina transplants, as well as braille machines for enhancing the educational experience for blind children. In addition to aiding the visually impaired, The I Mission has been extending a helping hand to any other communities such as the homeless population, foster facilities, seniors in need of medication and other essentials, and many more!

About This Cause

The I Mission is a non-profit organization that is working to bring light to life for visually challenged people all over the world. The I Mission is committed to helping the blind through a variety of methods including prevention, treatment, and improving the lives of the incurable blind. They work with impoverished nations and organizations that are dedicated to helping the visually challenged. This organization was founded in July 2016 by a team of high schoolers and is now being led by a group of high school students in Beaverton School District, Portland, Oregon. To raise funds for the cause, they host educational workshops and cultural events in the Portland metropolitan area. The educational workshops enrich the knowledge of local elementary and middle school children for their future academic success in a series of competitive platforms. The purpose of the cultural events, on the other hand, is to show Portland some of the art forms that are commonly practiced in other cultures across the globe. Towards the end of the year, The I Mission crew heads out on a service trip to a part of the world in need of quality ophthalmological care. Overall, The I Mission's consistent goal is to be able to make an 'eye-opening' difference in the lives of the impoverished, visually impaired population on an annual basis.
