About This Cause
Carolina Swims Foundation (CSF) 501(c)3: EIN 81-3732331 CSF Mission: To safeguard underserved children and children in foster care from drowning by equipping children with the survival life skill of swimming, and through the medium of swim lessons, help children build mastery in their own lives for self-preservation and self-actualization (complete mind & body wellness) CSF Vision: To prevent fatal and nonfatal drownings by “Giving the Gift of Swim” to all children. Carolina Swims Foundation is a nonprofit founded in 2016 that “Gives the Gift of Swim” lessons to underserved children and children in foster care in North Carolina. Carolina Swims Foundation has “given the gift of swim” to over 550 children in North Carolina. There are over 17,000 children in foster care in North Carolina. To date, Carolina Swims Foundation has sponsored the cost of swim lessons for children from 21 counties (Orange, Wake, Durham, Chatham, Lee, Johnston, Guilford, Harnett, Nash, Onslow, Forsyth, Edgecombe, Cumberland, Alamance, Wilkes, Stokes, Granville, Vance, Caswell, Franklin and Randolph) in North Carolina. CSF also sponsors the cost of the lifeguard certification course ($+/-$350), equipping old youth with employable and lifesaving skills. Over the years, Carolina Swims Foundation has collaborated with incredible organizations to help “Give the Gift of Swim” lessons to underserved children, to name a few: - American Red Cross - F.M. Kirby Foundation - USA Swimming - SafeKids - WHO - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention - North Carolina Child Fatality Task Force - Council Model Aquatic Health Code - YMCAs, - County Social Services - Children’s Hope Alliance, Children’s Home Society - National Drowning Prevention Alliance - Social Services (Wake, Durham, Orange, Chatham Counties)
