Mission Statement
Our mission is to create a sanctuary online for serious thinking. We are committed to big ideas, serious enquiry and a humane worldview. We publish two digital magazines which are entirely free to access: Aeon (aeon.co) which asks the big questions and finds the freshest, most original answers, provided by leading thinkers on science, philosophy, society and the arts; and Psyche (psyche.co) which explores the human condition through: mental health; the question of ‘how to live’; and the transcendent facets of life. We publish articles, practical guides, video and film. Your donation will directly support our writers, filmmakers and editors, and keep Aeon and Psyche free of intrusive ads.
About This Cause
Since 2012, Aeon has established itself as a unique digital magazine, publishing some of the most profound and provocative thinking on the web. We ask the big questions and find the freshest, most original answers, provided by leading thinkers on science, philosophy, society and the arts. Aeon was founded in London by Paul and Brigid Hains. It now has offices in London, Melbourne and New York. Psyche, a sister digital magazine to Aeon was launched in 2020. Both are offered completely free to enjoy. On Aeon you will find: Essays – Longform explorations of deep issues written by serious and creative thinkers Video – A mixture of curated short documentaries and original Aeon productions On Psyche you will find: Ideas – Thought-provoking articles about human nature from diverse thinkers Guides - Practical know-how that you can use in your own life, written by experts from a wide array of disciplines Film - Immersive short films that showcase artistic and poetic perspectives on the human condition Both Aeon & Psyche online magazines are offered completely free to enjoy. Through our Partnership program, we publish pieces from university research groups, university presses and other selected cultural organisations. Aeon America Inc is a not-for-profit, registered charity, tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service code in the US. It is affiliated with the main operating charity, Aeon Media Group Ltd, which is endorsed as a Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) organisation in Australia.
