About This Cause
The primary focus of the Chromatic Community Music Center (CCMC) is to bring music into people’s lives by making it accessible through group participatory and performance opportunities in the San Francisco (California) Bay Area. Whether participating or performing, the objective is to provide a satisfying and meaningful musical growth experience to the attending public throughout our program projects. We welcome people of all backgrounds and musical abilities as participants and audience members. CCMC’sOur projects are connected by a central philosophy of music pedagogy methods providing accessible instruction to any level of musical ability to facilitate ensemble-based musicmaking. Through these techniques, the individual improves not only their musical skills and knowledge, but by participating in an ensemble they are part of something larger than themselves. Their connection to the arts through the ensembles acts as a tool for gaining connection to their own humahttps://www.facebook.com/TheCallingAllChoir/nity, as well as seeing it in others. Our programs have a strong emphasis on singing as it is the most fundamental and basic human musical expression. We also stress cooperation rather than competition in our projects. Our programs will always be framed in the context of a community.
